Sherrock one of 24 'amateurs' taking on Littler
Women's world number three Fallon Sherrock is named among the 24 contestants bidding to beat Luke Littler in a new Netflix special.
Fallon Sherrock's participation in the upcoming Netflix special, where she'll face off against 23 other contestants vying to beat Luke Littler, marks a significant moment for darts. As a professional darts player and women's world number three, Sherrock's inclusion in a competition against predominantly male opponents highlights the growing push for inclusivity in the sport.
The event, featuring a mix of established players and newcomers, will likely draw attention to the evolving landscape of darts. With Littler, a rising star in the sport, as the target for the contestants, the competition is set to showcase a range of skills and strategies. The involvement of Netflix, a major streaming platform, also indicates a broader effort to popularize darts and bring it to a wider audience.
As the event approaches, fans and observers will be watching to see how the contestants, including Sherrock, adapt to the pressure of competing against Littler. The outcome will provide insight into the current state of darts and the potential for future events that blend professional and amateur players. The performance of 'amateur' players, in particular, will be of interest, as it may signal a shift in how the sport approaches talent identification and development.
